I believe the Queensway is a noble idea, but its far from practical.

The area really suffers from sub par public transportation options. With the East Side Access currently in construction, there will be additional capacity that would in be able to handle the trains from the new LIRR line.

This would mean many who drive into Manhattan from this area due to the transport challenges will have a much more viable option as opposed to a 1-2 hr commute into Manhattan. This also would help reduce congestion along Woodhaven . With reduced congestion, bike lanes can be added along Woodhaven to appease the Queensway lobbyists who are advocating for this project.

Speaking of which, it would be prudent to look for ways to improve the current Forest Park - which is lacking the funding and support to truly enhance the park's amenities. How can we agree to add another park if the existing parks aren't being adequately taken care of to begin with? It is with hope this idea is nixed.
